Dry Needling 2
Dry needling is a treatment that involves inserting thin needles into the skin and muscles to relieve pain. The needles are thought to stimulate the release of endorphins, which are the body’s natural pain-relieving chemicals. Dry needling is also thought to reduce inflammation and help improve muscle function.

How dry needling works

Dry needling is used as a treatment for trigger points, which are areas of muscle that are painful when touched.
After your initial consultation, during which we will assess your needs and tailor a treatment plan specifically for you, a dry needling session typically lasts between 30 and 60 minutes.
We will start by asking you about your pain levels and any other symptoms you may be experiencing. We will then palpate (examine by touch) the affected muscle tissue to locate any trigger points.
Once the trigger point is located, we will insert a thin, sterile needle into the muscle. You may feel a brief sensation of pressure or a cramp-like feeling as the needle enters the muscle.
Once the needle is in place, we will gently manipulate it until you feel a twitch response in the muscle. This twitch response is a good sign that we have found the right spot.
Once the trigger point is released, you should feel a noticeable reduction in pain and other symptoms. In some cases, dry needling can provide immediate relief. For others, it may take a few sessions to see noticeable results.
